Our Hospital plans are designed to help cover the big health costs like surgery or cancer treatment, giving you fast access to private healthcare and making it easier to get back on your feet. These plans offer cover for:
non-PHARMAC Plus
non-PHARMAC funded drugs can be lifesaving – but can cost up to hundreds of thousands of dollars. This option helps you cover the cost and lessen the burden of expensive treatments with these drugs for conditions such as cancer, Crohn's disease and arthritis.
non-PHARMAC Plus covers the cost of non-PHARMAC funded drugs that are Medsafe-approved, used in a private hospital or at home and meet Medsafe’s guidelines for use1. The drugs must be recommended by a registered specialist and relate to an approved claim for treatment under your Hospital plan (which covers eligible hospital, specialist and/or anaesthetist costs).
The option also covers any drug administration costs and there are four different cover levels (the maximum amount we will pay towards your eligible claims within your policy year for each member covered) to choose from to suit your needs:

**Am I covered for any pre-existing conditions?
In summary, a pre-existing condition is any injury, illness, symptom or diagnosis that happened any time prior to your join date. Many pre-existing conditions will be covered after three years, as explained in the policy document. However, we will never cover any of the following if they are pre-existing:
- Cancer
- Cardiovascular conditions and some risk factors
- Hip, knee or back issues
- Transplant surgery
- Reconstructive or reparative surgery
