nib, in partnership with Ngāti Whātua Ōrakei, is on a journey to become a better health partner to Māori and address some of the disparities that exist in the health sector. To do this, we will identify providers within nib's 'Find a Provider' directory who we consider actively promote a culturally responsive and inclusive environment for Māori and endorse them with a symbol called the Tohu Toi Ora. This allows members to find a provider that they know practices in a way that is welcoming, engaging and safe for Māori.
Rongoā Māori is a body of knowledge that has as its core the enhancement of Māori wellbeing.

These responses include rakau rongoā (native flora herbal preparations), mirimiri (massage) and karakia (prayer).
